Softball Recap: Abernathy Comes Up Short

Abernathy and Post squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Abernathy had to settle for second. They fell 6-2 to Post. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, Abernathy couldn't push the score so high this time.

Abernathy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mallory Gonzalez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Abernathy's loss dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Post, they now have a winning record of 14-13.

While Abernathy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
