Ursuline took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Salem, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Fighting Irish narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Quakers 6-4. Winning may never get old, but the Fighting Irish sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Ursuline got a great performance from Dom Polkovitch as he pitched 6.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Luke Kollar, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Triveri, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Ursuline now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Salem, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Ursuline and Salem could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Fighting Irish will take on Cardinal Mooney at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (223 vs. 86). Meanwhile, Salem (ranked 593rd) will meet Marlington (ranked 158th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
