Baseball Game Preview: East Columbus Gators vs. Heide Trask Titans

The East Columbus Gators will challenge the Heide Trask Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. East Columbus is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

East Columbus' pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against Chatham Central by a score of 3-0.

Demetrius Dexter looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, East Columbus saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Rye, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Heide Trask fell victim to South Columbus and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Stallions, falling 11-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Titans in their meetings with the Stallions: they've now lost five in a row.

Heide Trask's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for East Columbus, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-6.

East Columbus took their victory against Heide Trask in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-2 score. Do the Gators have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
