Wheaton North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-47 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lincoln-Way East Griffins. On the bright side, the 47- point performance marked the Falcons' highest-scoring game to date.

Wheaton North's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Lincoln-Way East, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Wheaton North and Conant will face off at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. As for Lincoln-Way East, they will venture away from home to take on Homewood-Flossmoor at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Griffins their first taste of in-conference action this season.
