Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask La Crosse Central). They put the hurt on the La Crosse Logan Rangers with a sharp 14-1 victory on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Riverhawks in their matchups with the Rangers: they've now won six in a row.

Carmen Peterson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ellie Gillitzer, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Norah Holkup also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

La Crosse Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

La Crosse Central pushed their record up to 8-10 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for La Crosse Logan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.
