Softball Game Preview: West Union Eagles vs. Myrtle Hawks

For the second straight game, West Union will face off against Myrtle. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Union will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

West Union is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over Myrtle.

For Myrtle's part, Brooklyn Streich spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits. Streich has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Myrtle saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cora Beth Kelly, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

West Union's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-9. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Myrtle, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 23-6 record.
