Preview: Cowan Blackhawks vs. Shenandoah Raiders

Cowan is 0-5 against Shenandoah since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Cowan Blackhawks will be playing at home against the Shenandoah Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Cowan has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 30.

Cowan suffered their biggest defeat since November 16, 2023 on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 45-19 walloping at the hands of Yorktown. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cowan in their matchups with Yorktown: they've now lost six in a row.

Cowan's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Savannah Hall, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and three blocks, and Brooklyn Hall who scored seven points along with two blocks.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Shenandoah beat Randolph Southern 40-35 on Saturday. The victory was just what Shenandoah needed coming off of a 54-30 loss in their prior matchup.

Shenandoah relied on the efforts of Grace Lee, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals, and Gabbi Patrick, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds. Lee is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

Cowan's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-13. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.0 points per game. As for Shenandoah, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Cowan came up short against Shenandoah in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 41-29. Will Cowan have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
