Angola is 8-1 against Garrett since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Hornets are taking a road trip to take on the Railroaders at 5:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.

Angola not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 7, 2024 (when they won 10-0). They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over Fremont.

While Garrett didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Hamilton a 15-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Railroaders haven't had any issues with the Marines recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Remi Winebrenner made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Peyton Grindstaff was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases and four runs. Addy Work was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Garrett's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Angola, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Angola was able to grind out a solid win over Garrett in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
