Fallbrook took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against El Camino, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warriors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Wildcats on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since March 14th.
Fallbrook was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-23, 16-25, 25-13, 15-9.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Oceanside, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Valley Center with a sharp 3-0 victory on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Pirates as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Oceanside got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 55-18, 25-22.
Oceanside's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-10. As for Fallbrook, they pushed their record up to 15-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
Everything went Fallbrook's way against Oceanside when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Fallbrook made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pirates turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
