A Season-Best Effort from Evan Powell Leads Cajon over Beaumont

Sadly, Evan Powell posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Cajon over Beaumont on Friday. Powell threw for 431 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt. Cajon is undefeated when Powell posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

If history really does repeat itself, Powell might just drop another big game when he faces off against Redlands East Valley on Friday. Powell threw for 224 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries the last time he and the Wildcats duked it out back in September of 2023.

Nathen Lopez Delivers Electric Performance Vs Redlands

Nathen Lopez helped snap Redlands East Valley's ten-game losing streak dating back to last season. Lopez did his part (and then some), rushing for 164 yards and a touchdown, while also picking up 99 receiving yards and a touchdown for the 'W'. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 103 rushing yards.

Redlands East Valley's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. Lopez and Redlands East Valley will head out on the road to take on Cajon at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Dj Littles Turns in Season-Best Performance

Sadly, Dj Littles posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Cajon over Beaumont on Friday. Littles picked up 209 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 82 yards.

This year, Littles has caught those 3 touchdowns while averaging 64.3 receiving yards per game.

Another Game with at Least 11 Total Tackles from Taylor Johnson

Cajon came up short on Friday despite Taylor Johnson delivering his best game to date. Johnson wasn't messing around, picking up a sack and making 23 total tackles (2.0 for loss). The matchup was his sixth straight with 11 or more total tackles dating back to last season.
