Basketball Recap: Payette Takes a Loss

Payette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Weiser Wolverines and fell 59-28. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Wolverines are ranked 27th).

Payette's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Weiser, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Payette will square off against Cole Valley Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Payette is facing Cole Valley Christian at the right time seeing as Cole Valley Christian is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Weiser, they will take on Fruitland at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Weiser's defense has only allowed 27.5 points per game this season, so Fruitland's offense will have their work cut out for them.
