Baseball Recap: Luling Triumphs

Luling saw some tournament action on Thursday. They came out on top against the Natalia Mustangs by a score of 6-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

The team relied heavily on Evan Uker, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Reyna, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Luling was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Luling's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Natalia, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Coincidentally, Luling and Natalia will both be playing John Paul II the next time they take the field. The Eagles will head out to face the Guardians at 2:15 p.m. on Friday, while the Mustangs will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
