Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Petal). They put the hurt on the Meridian Wildcats with a sharp 17-3 win on Tuesday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Jackson Collins looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tanner Beliveau, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Easton Giger was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Petal's win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Meridian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Petal beat the Wildcats by a score of 20-1 on Friday.
