Volleyball Recap: Iroquois/Lake Preston Comes Up Short

After flying high against James Valley Christian last Tuesday, Iroquois/Lake Preston came back down to earth. Iroquois/Lake Preston fell 3-1 to the Wessington Springs Spartans on Tuesday. If Iroquois/Lake Preston was looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to Wessington Springs when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Iroquois/Lake Preston started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-13, 25-21, 25-20.

Among those leading the charge was Remie Roduner, who had 20 digs and one assist. Roduner is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 16 every time she's taken the court this season.

Iroquois/Lake Preston's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Wessington Springs, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Iroquois/Lake Preston will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Arlington at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wessington Springs, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Sanborn Central/Woonsocket at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th.
