The Frewsburg Bears will venture away from home to take on the Dunkirk Marauders at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Frewsburg is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season.

Frewsburg is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Panama on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Frewsburg lost 74-54 to Panama. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-24.

Despite their loss, Frewsburg saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kael Collver, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 13 points and eight boards, was perhaps the best of all. Collver has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Blake Weaver was another key player, putting up 12 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Dunkirk hadn't done well against Salamanca recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Dunkirk narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Salamanca 59-57. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Marauders have posted since January 4, 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Dunkirk and bumps their season record up to 7-12. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points over those games. As for Frewsburg, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Frewsburg came up short against Dunkirk in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 70-62. Can Frewsburg avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
