Softball Game Preview: Paden City Wildcats vs. Wirt County Tigers

Paden City is on an 11-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Wirt County a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Paden City Wildcats will be playing at home against the Wirt County Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Paden City came up short against Union Local on Wednesday, falling 18-3.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Wirt County's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 21-0 to Gilmer County, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Wirt County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Paden City, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12-1.

Paden City took their win against Wirt County when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-5 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
