Basketball Recap: Faith Lutheran Piles Up the Points Against Varsity Opponent

Faith Lutheran had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past Varsity Opponent 65-15. This was payback for the Crusaders, who suffered a 53-50 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Faith Lutheran found their leader in freshman Caroline Logan, who went 9-for-13 en route to 18 points along with six boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Liz Herpin, who shot 42% from the field to rack up 11 points and three steals.

Looking ahead, Faith Lutheran and Foothill will face off at 3:20 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. As for Varsity Opponent, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against DME Academy Blue at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Varsity Opponent will be up against the -'s rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.86 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
