It was a Battle of the Birds when Thatcher faced off against Empire on Tuesday. The Thatcher Eagles blew past the Empire Ravens, posting a 64-29 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Ravens recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Thatcher to victory, but perhaps none more so than Audrey Smith, who posted 11 points along with eight assists and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Smith a new career-high in assists. Cambria Wakefield was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Smith wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Thatcher was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Thatcher's win bumped their record up to 8-14. As for Empire, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season.

Thatcher wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-49 defeat against Sabino on the 6th. As for Empire, they have also already played their next contest, a 50-10 loss against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy on the 6th.
