Baseball Game Preview: Holy Family Tigers vs. The Academy Wildcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Holy Family Tigers duke it out with The Academy Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Academy took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Holy Family, who comes in off a win.

Holy Family's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victor by an 11-0 margin over Jefferson Academy.

Holy Family got a great performance from Brendan Ward as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. The dominant performance gave Ward a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, Logan Seifarth was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Xavier Vega, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, The Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 12-2 to Niwot.

Xavier Turner made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Gavin Maggufin was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Holy Family now has a winning record of 2-1. As for The Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
