Baseball Recap: Lowell Beats Wayland for Their Third Straight Victory

Lowell entered their tilt with Wayland on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Wildcats 12-2. With that win, the Red Arrows brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Lowell got a great performance from Owen Dennings as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Dennings a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Logan Dawson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Mason Brown also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Lowell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Lowell's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-7-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Wayland, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-14.

Lowell will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair will be back at it again later today.
