Football Game Preview: Ledyard Colonels vs. Windham Whippets + Official Tickets

The Ledyard Colonels will head out to square off against the Windham Whippets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Ledyard had taken Waterford down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end last Friday. The Colonels were just a hair shy of victory and fell 35-34 to the Lancers. Despite 135 more yards than the Lancers, the Colonels couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the defeat, Ledyard got top-tier performance from Jackson Favry, who rushed for 187 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries.

Meanwhile, Windham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Woodstock Academy, falling 36-14. Surprisingly, this marked the Whippets' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Ledyard's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Windham, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Ledyard couldn't quite finish off Windham in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 and fell 17-14. Can the Colonels avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
