Softball Recap: Cabrini Has No Trouble Against Morris Jeff

While Cabrini put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Morris Jeff. The Crescents put the hurt on the Pelicans with a sharp 20-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Crescents, who have now won five contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Sophia Felps and Makayla Richoux made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Felps tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Richoux tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Felps got on base in all three of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Richoux went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Felps a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashley Normand, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Rose, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Cabrini has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-9-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Morris Jeff, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8-1.

Coming up, Cabrini will head out on the road to take on Kennedy on Thursday. As for Morris Jeff, they will host Landry at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
