Basketball Recap: Richland County Tigers vs. Charleston Trojans

The Richland County Tigers won the last time they faced the Charleston Trojans, and things went their way on Thursday too. Richland County enjoyed a cozy 58-40 win over the Trojans. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Richland County.

Richland County found their leader in underclassman Kelysse Weiler, who scored 27 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Weiler has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Danielle Reagan Brown, who scored eight points along with 19 rebounds and three blocks.

Charleston's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anny Logsdon, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Hinds, who scored nine points.

Richland County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 14-13 record this season. As for Charleston, they dropped their record down to 5-19 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richland County will take on the Orphans at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Charleston, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Decatur Eisenhower focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Thursday.
