Basketball Recap: Taft Takes a Loss

Taft was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the Marshall Rams. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Raiders have suffered against the Rams since January 10, 2020.

Marshall got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jai Lopez out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Jason Vidaurri, who posted nine points in addition to eight assists and five rebounds.

Taft's record is now 5-20. As for Marshall, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-16 record this season.

Taft will take on Holmes at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Taft is facing Holmes at the right time seeing as Holmes is stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Marshall, they will host Warren at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Marshall will also cruise into their next match with the timing on their side: Warren will have lost four straight heading into Saturday's game.
