Lafayette Christian faced Central Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Cougars simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Crusaders 47-6. With the Cougars ahead 33-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Lafayette Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Connor Hudson and Bradley Miller.

The win was the sixth in a row for Lafayette Christian, bringing their record up to 6-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.8 points over those games. As for Central Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Coming up, after each having a week off, Lafayette Christian and St. Francis will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th. The Cougars will be up against the Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Central Christian, they will challenge Johnson Ferry Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
