Basketball Recap: Leroy Comes Up Short

Leroy played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Southern Choctaw Indians 57-29. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 366th, while the Indians are ranked 182nd).

Marcionna Young was her usual excellent self, putting up 19 points for Southern Choctaw. Young's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyah Crain, who posted 12 points.

Leroy is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5. As for Southern Choctaw, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Leroy will host Fruitdale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southern Choctaw, they will face off against McIntosh at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southern Choctaw is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season.
