Baseball Game Preview: Chippewa Valley Big Reds vs. Grosse Pointe North Norsemen

For the second straight game, Chippewa Valley will face off against Grosse Pointe North. The Big Reds will head out on the road to challenge the Norsemen at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On Saturday, Chippewa Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Grosse Pointe North and fell 4-3.

Chippewa Valley got a good showing from Shaun Freitag, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, Freitag gave up only three hits, the fewest he's had over his last three contests.

At the plate, Sammy Mestari was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Landon Simpson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Chippewa Valley's loss dropped their record down to 17-14-2. As for Grosse Pointe North, their win bumped their record up to 8-24-1.
