Recap: Benson Bunnies vs. Westview
The Benson Bunnies pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Westview by a score of 60-57. Benson has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Benson saw an underclassman step up: Goanar Bamach dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. Bamach scored a full 35.1% of Benson's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Lino, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Benson now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Westview, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Benson's road trip will continue as they head out to face Millard North. Millard North is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Westview, they will head out on the road to face off against Omaha North at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Omaha North focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday.
