Football Game Preview: Chuckey-Doak Black Knights vs. Volunteer Falcons + How To Watch

The Chuckey-Doak Black Knights will face off against the Volunteer Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Chuckey-Doak turned things around against Claiborne on Friday. They secured a 19-13 W over the Bulldogs.

Chuckey-Doak found their leader in sophomore Kiptyn Ball, who threw for 218 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.

Meanwhile, Volunteer won against Seymour back in September with 41 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Falcons breezed past Northview Academy to the tune of 41-8. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 30 points or more this season.

A big part of Volunteer's win came down to the chemistry between Lincoln Wilson and his top target Amarion Graves. Wilson threw for 320 yards and four TDs while picking up 13.9 yards per attempt while Graves picked up 119 receiving yards and three scores. Graves also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making one tackle. Another player making a difference was Nathan Simpson, who picked up 94 receiving yards and one touchdown.

One reason for the win was Volunteer's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for nine sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Christian Wilson and Connor Begley, who racked up five sacks between them. Wilson also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with ten. Another thorn in Northview Academy's side was Christian Bullock, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made 12 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Chuckey-Doak's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-3. As for Volunteer, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
