Recap: Lakeland Regional vs. Passaic Valley

Lakeland Regional won the last time they faced Passaic Valley, and things went their way on Saturday, too. Lakeland Regional skirted past Passaic Valley 29-27. The margin of victory was a little narrower than expected seeing as Lakeland Regional are ranked 104 places ahead of Passaic Valley in the state rankings.

Lakeland Regional's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 22 points in the first half. Passaic Valley came up with 14 to make it 22-14 heading into the break. Lakeland Regional were outperformed in the second half 7-13 but had enough in reserve to walk away with the win.

No one put up better numbers for Lakeland Regional than senior Michael Mckay, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns. The victory bumped their record up to 2-0. The loss started Passaic Valley out at 0-1 for the season.

Lakeland Regional looks to establish their home field advantage next week as they take on Lenape Valley at 6:30 PM. As for Passaic Valley, they will face off against Delbarton.
