Volleyball Recap: Calabasas Takes a Loss

Calabasas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Oaks Christian Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Coyotes of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-17, 25-14.

Abigail Salomon paced Calabasas' offense, picking up seven kills. Salomon got some help from Sessie Squar and her seven assists. Salomon also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Solena Kirby, racking up two apiece.

Oaks Christian can attribute much of their success to Kiah Wong, who had 24 assists and four digs. That's the most assists Wong has posted over her last ten matchups. Lyla Eason also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Calabasas' defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Oaks Christian, they pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Calabasas has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Viewpoint on the 13th. As for Oaks Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Thousand Oaks on the 16th.
