The Frewsburg Bears will venture away from home to challenge the Dunkirk Marauders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Frewsburg is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Frewsburg and Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Bears walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Wolfpack on Monday.
Aidan Gruber spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mason Eckman, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Frewsburg is 14-0-1 when Eckman posts two or more runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Maddox Sheesley, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Dunkirk came out on top against Eden on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run sixth inning. The Marauders never let the Raiders get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The Marauders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.
Danny Hoth looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).
At the plate, Josh Lemanski was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Paul Trippy was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Dunkirk kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Dunkirk's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Frewsburg, their record now sits at 17-5-1.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Frewsburg has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .512. However, it's not like Dunkirk struggles in that department as they've averaged .471. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Frewsburg suffered a grim 14-0 defeat to Dunkirk in their previous meeting back in May of 2021. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
