Basketball Recap: Swanville Takes a Loss

Swanville fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Upsala on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Upsala Cardinals by a score of 73-71. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now lost four in a row.

Upsala's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jack Primus led the charge by dropping a double-double with 22 points and 13 boards. That's the most rebounds Primus has posted since back in December of 2024. Calvin Leners was another key player, going 8 of 18 to rack up 26 points.

Swanville's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Upsala, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Swanville has already played their next contest, a 71-45 defeat against Kimball on the 8th. As for Upsala, they will face off against Bertha-Hewitt at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
