Preview: Belleview Christian Bruins vs. Dawson School Mustangs
The Belleview Christian Bruins will head out on the road to face off against the Dawson School Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Belleview Christian is looking to tack on another W to their 13-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Even though Front Range Baptist scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, Belleview Christian still came out on top. Belleview Christian took their match against Front Range Baptist 67-55.
Belleview Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Garrett Owen out in front who scored 18 points along with four steals and two blocks. Owen hasn't dropped below two steals for 11 straight games. Joshua Norman was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 63-34, which was the final score in Dawson School's tilt against Bishop Machebeuf on Friday. While losing is never fun, Dawson School can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while Bishop Machebeuf is ranked 63rd).
Belleview Christian's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Dawson School, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Belleview Christian took their victory against Dawson School in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 47-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for Belleview Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
