Soccer Game Preview: Aquinas vs. Academy of Richmond County

The Aquinas Fightin' Irish will head out to square off against the Academy of Richmond County Musketeers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Tuesday, Aquinas made easy work of Baldwin and carried off a 6-2 win.

Meanwhile, Academy of Richmond County waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their defense stepped up to hand the Rebels a 10-0 shutout. Carson Murphy had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Musketeers.

Academy of Richmond County pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 44 goals over those five contests. As for Aquinas, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Aquinas might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Academy of Richmond County in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Aquinas avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
