After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brewer, Springtown was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the Southwest Raiders as they made off with a 17-1 victory. Considering the Porcupines have won 14 matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Kylee Spray made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Ava Fernandez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Reiss DeLaFuente was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Springtown's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Southwest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.
