Soccer Recap: Cornerstone Charter Academy Comes Up Short

Cornerstone Charter Academy was the 5-3 winner over Foundation Academy when they last played one another back in January of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks lost 9-1 to the Foundation Academy Lions on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Ducks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 397th, while the Lions are ranked 173rd).

Cornerstone Charter Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8-1 record this season. As for Foundation Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Charter Academy will take on Windermere Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Foundation Academy, they are taking a road trip to face off against Wekiva at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Foundation Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 5.9 goals per game this season.
