Basketball Recap: Bloomington North Comes Up Short

On Tuesday, the Bloomington North Cougars lost to the Greenwood Woodmen on the road by a 67-52 margin. The Cougars were down 54-34 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

When it comes to explaining why Bloomington North lost, don't look at Luke Lindman. Despite the final result, he on his way to 15 points and five boards. What's more, Lindman posted two assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ka'Mareon Washington, who had nine points.

Even though they lost, Bloomington North smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive matchups.

It was another big night for Isaac O'Neal, who en route to 26 points and three steals for Greenwood. O'Neal is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 55% in the last five games he's played. Parker Doolin was another key player, to rack up 12 points and seven rebounds.

Bloomington North has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points over those games. Greenwood's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-10.

Coming up, Bloomington North will head out on the road to face off against New Albany at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bloomington North is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season. As for Greenwood, they will square off against Indian Creek at 7:30 p.m. on March 5th.
