Football Recap: Chavez Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Friday just wasn't the day for Chavez's offense. They took a blow against the Centennial Golden Hawks on Friday, falling 28-0. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 806th, while the Golden Hawks are ranked 264th).

Preston Shults was the offensive standout of the contest as he picked up 76 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in receiving touchdowns (two).

Chavez's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Centennial, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chavez will venture away from home to face off against South at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Titans will be up against the Spartans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Centennial, they will head out to take on St. Joseph at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' defense has only allowed 8.2 points per game this season, so the Golden Hawks' offense will have their work cut out for them.
