Volleyball Game Preview: Mount Miguel Matadors vs. Monte Vista Monarchs

Mount Miguel hasn't had much luck against Monte Vista recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Mount Miguel will venture away from home to take on Monte Vista at 6:30 p.m.

Mount Miguel is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Friday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Crawford.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 15-25, 25-18, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Monte Vista hadn't done well against Steele Canyon recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Monte Vista came out on top in a nail-biter against Steele Canyon, sneaking past 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Monarchs.

Monte Vista had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 20-25, 25-14, 25-14, 17-15.

Mount Miguel's loss dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Monte Vista, their record now sits at 11-5.

Mount Miguel might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Monte Vista when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Mount Miguel avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
