Soccer Game Preview: Louisa County vs. Orange County

Louisa County hasn't had much luck against Orange County recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Lions will square off against the Fighting Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Louisa County has given up an average of 4.7 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Louisa County is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 7-2 to Monticello. While losing is never fun, Louisa County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 268th, while Monticello are ranked 101st).

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Orange County's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They and Western Albemarle finished up their game with a 1-1 draw. The result kept Orange County happy, as they haven't lost a game since April 14th.

Their goal came courtesy of Kayla Ash, who's now up to ten this season.

Orange County's draw makes their record 8-3-2 this season. As for Louisa County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.

Louisa County suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Orange County in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
