Basketball Recap: Northeastern's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

It's playoff time, and Northeastern had no trouble coming through when it counted. They breezed by the Centerville Bulldogs to the tune of 61-30 on Friday. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Northeastern to victory were Ava Mikesell and Adysson Kircher. Mikesell almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine assists, while Kircher went 9 for 14 on her way to 19 points and five rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Kircher now owns an excellent 45.4% field goal percentage. Karri Gammon was another key player, going 6 of 10 to rack up 12 points.

The victory (which was Northeastern's eighth in a row) raised their record to 23-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.1 points over those games. As for Centerville, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-13.

Northeastern didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-31 win against Union County on the 8th. Centerville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
