Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Mcgavock's Third in Last Four Outings

McGavock lost to Hillsboro back in May of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Raiders came out on top against the Burros by a score of 6-5 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Jeremiah Taimanglo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on eight hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cody Calvin was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

McGavock is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Hillsboro, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-8.

McGavock will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Burros: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
