Softball Recap: Laporte Takes a Loss

After flying high against Red Lake County Central last Thursday, Laporte came back down to earth. The Wildcats came up short against the Kelliher/Northome Mustangs on Tuesday, falling 12-6. The Wildcats have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Laporte's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Kelliher/Northome, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Laporte will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Clearbrook-Gonvick at 4:30 p.m. on May 5. As for Kelliher/Northome, they will venture away from home to face off against Walker-Hackensack-Akeley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
