Softball Recap: Biloxi Indians vs. Harrison Central Red Rebels
Biloxi lost against Harrison Central back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Biloxi Indians fell just short of the Harrison Central Red Rebels by a score of 3-2. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Kya Gammons was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.
On the hitting side, Imani Shannon was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season.
Biloxi's record now sits at 10-7. As for Harrison Central, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Biloxi will challenge Bay at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bay has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.27 runs per game on average), something Biloxi will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Harrison Central, they will take on Gulfport at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
