Basketball Game Recap: Canton Preparatory vs. Chavez Academy

The Canton Preparatory Chargers entered their contest on Thursday as the heavy favorite, and they fully lived up to the hype. They put a hurting on the Chavez Academy Aztec Eagles at home to the tune of 59-11. That's another feather in the cap for Canton, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

The victory -- their third in a row -- raised the Chargers' record to 10-4. Chavez Academy's overall record fell to 1-10.

The Chargers will square off against Whitmore Lake in three weeks. Canton won't have the home-court advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings. Chavez Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hope Of Detroit Academy. Detroit is looking for a pick-me-up after a 77-26 blowout loss to Advanced Tech Academy.
