Basketball Recap: GV Christian Comes Up Short

After flying high against Laughlin on Friday, GV Christian came back down to earth. The GV Christian Guardians were beaten by the Needles Mustangs 83-38 on Saturday. The Guardians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-23.

Despite the loss, GV Christian still got an impressive performance from Nick Madsen, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. Wake Rolwing was another key player, putting up ten points.

It was another big night for Darrell Russell, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 14 boards for Needles. What's more, Russell also posted a 60% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Luke Mills, who went 5-for-10 en route to 15 points and five assists.

GV Christian's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Needles, the win keeps them at an undefeated 28-0.

GV Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 49-27 victory against Founders Classical Academy on the 13th. As for Needles, they have also already played their next contest, a 66-59 win against GV Christian on the 14th.
