The Shenandoah Zeps will face off against the Bridgeport Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
On Monday, Shenandoah came up short against Cambridge and fell 6-1. The Zeps haven't had much luck with the Bobcats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Shenandoah saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Cline, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bridgeport, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over Jefferson County Christian on Monday. Considering the Bulldogs have won six matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Carson Sauvageot made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Connor Nelson was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. GAGE DRUMMOND was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Bridgeport always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jefferson County Christian only posted an OBP of .259.
Bridgeport pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Shenandoah, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-18.
