Volleyball Recap: Excel Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Monroe County last Tuesday, Excel came back down to earth. The Panthers came up short against the Flomaton Hurricanes on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hurricanes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 4th.

Excel was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-15, 25-17.

Their offense was headlined by Avery Duke and Madelyn Flummer, who picked up three kills apiece. Duke really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with five. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Excel's defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 9-7. As for Flomaton, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Excel didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Hillcrest on the 2nd. Flomaton has also already played their next matchup (against Monroe County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
