Volleyball Recap: Trimble Gets the Win

Trimble took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Fisher Catholic, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tomcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Irish on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tomcats have posted since September 30, 2024.

Trimble had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 19-25, 25-22, 25-23, 15-9.

Brooklyn Burdette paced Trimble's offense, picking up 18 kills. Burdette were helped by Rilynn Fouts and Abby Henry, who contributed 15 assists each. Marley Handa controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Trimble is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-10 record this season. As for Fisher Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-3.

Coming up, Trimble will challenge Belpre at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fisher Catholic, they have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Grove City Christian on the 23rd.
